Philosophy
I believe that people are best understood in context of what they have gone through in life and the schemas they’ve developed throughout their life. What often shows up as distress, psychological symptoms, or stuck patterns often once served an important purpose in one’s life. My work as a therapist begins with curiosity and with the belief that understanding yourself more deeply is a powerful foundation for change.
I am committed to staying engaged with the latest research in psychology while also drawing from related fields such as philosophy, sociology, biology, and history. Human beings are complex, and I believe therapy is most effective when it honors that complexity.
In our work together, I place a strong emphasis on exploring the schemas and internal working models that shape how you see yourself, others, and the world. We take time to understand where these patterns came from, how they once helped you adapt, and how they may now be limiting your ability to live in ways that feel meaningful or fulfilling. I believe insight matters—but insight alone is rarely enough. Therapy also involves learning new ways of relating to yourself and others, experimenting with different responses, and gradually putting new understandings into practice.
I provide psychoeducation throughout the process so that you can better understand your own inner world. My goal is not for you to rely on therapy indefinitely, but for you to develop a clearer, more compassionate, and more flexible internal framework that supports growth long after our work ends.
My therapeutic stance is both supportive and direct. I aim to be compassionate, gentle, and kind, while also being honest and willing to challenge patterns that no longer serve you. I believe meaningful change often requires both safety and discomfort, and I work carefully to balance those in a way that respects your pace and autonomy.
Above all, I approach this work with deep respect for the people I serve. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, growth, and care. If you are interested in understanding yourself more fully and are open to thoughtful, intentional change, I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
